2016 Baseball Coaching Staff

Brad Morgan – Head Coach – 1 st Season

Brad is entering his first year as head coach with the Corsairs. During the past two seasons, Brad served as an assistant coach working with the catcher’s and hitting instructor. He also serves as an associate faculty member at the College teaching in both Kinesiology and General Studies. Brad played for the Corsairs in 2006 & 2007 where he earned 1st team All-Conference honors each season. Brad went on to play at Div II New Mexico Highlands in 2009 & 2010. After competing in four years of Baseball, Brad then went on as a Varsity wrestler for the Cowboys in 2011 and participating in the Regional Tournament.  He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Kinesiology at Highlands while serving as the strength and conditioning coach for both the baseball and wrestling program from 2011-2013. In addition to his four year college career, Brad also has played three seasons and then served as an assistant coach for three seasons with the local semi-pro baseball program Humboldt Crabs.

Spencer Duggan – Assistant Coach – Infield Coach 3 rd Season

Spencer is entering his 3rd season with the Corsairs as the infielder’s coach and hitting instructor. Spencer played for the Corsairs in 2009 & 2010 where he earned All-Conference honors. He then played at NAIA Bellevue University in Nebraska in 2011 & 2012. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications in the fall of 2013. Spencer also played in parts of three seasons and served as an assistant coach one season with the Humboldt Crabs. He was their Most Valuable Player in 2012. Currently, Spencer is involved with the local semi-pro baseball program Humboldt B-52’s. 

Brian Barreto – Assistant Coach – Pitching Coach 1 st Season

Brian is starting his first season as the pitching coaching for the Corsairs. A sixth generation Humboldt county resident, Brian went to Eureka high school where he played four years of varsity baseball. Awarded HDN all-conference in three of the four years. After graduating, he went to play two years at Lassen College and made the All-Conference team as a pitcher both seasons. After Lassen, he played one additional season at Missouri State. Brian also played semi-pro baseball for the Humboldt Crabs. In 2002, he moved back home to Eureka permanently where he resides today with his wife, son, and daughter.
