CR 2008 Boy's and Girl's Basketball Camp
The College of the Redwoods women’s
basketball program will be offering a
summer basketball camp for girls K-8th
grades and boys K-5th
grades. Camp will
be held Monday through Friday, July 28th
through August 1st. Camp is offered from 8:30 a.m. -12:30
p.m. and 1:00-5:00 p.m. each day.
Campers can sign up for the morning
session, afternoon session, or full day
session. Early drop-off starting at 8:00
a.m. for full day or morning session
attendees or 12:00 p.m. for afternoon
session attendees is available at no
additional charge. In addition, late pick-
up up to 5:30 p.m. is also offered at no
additional charge.
Campers will be divided into age and
skill appropriate groups to make for the
best camp experience. The women’s basketball program has
recently purchased two lowered portable
hoops for the younger campers. Fundamentals will be taught in a fun and
educational way so that both beginning
and intermediate campers have a great
opportunity to learn and improve.
Campers have an option of purchasing
their lunch at the campus cafeteria or
bringing a lunch.
All campers will receive a camp t-shirt
and camp picture on the last day of
camp.

Camp Features |
The camp is directed by Kara Newman, College
of the Redwoods Head Women’s Basketball
Coach. Coach Newman brings twelve years of
basketball camp experience, including six years
of directing camps at both Humboldt State
University and College of the Redwoods. In
addition to her coaching experience, Coach
Newman also has three years of elementary
school teaching experience, and a Masters
degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in
teaching and coaching. Her camps have a
reputation for being high energy, fun and
confidence builders for young basketball players!
The coaching staff will consist of current and
former college basketball coaches and players.
