The Cooperative Work Experience Education (CWEE) Program allows students to earn credits while working at paid jobs or as volunteers, even if self-employed. The number of units a student receives is dependent on the number of hours the student works during the semester. For example: One unit of unpaid work requires 60 work hours, and one unit of paid work requires 75 work hours over the semester.
Students work with a supervising faculty member and work supervisor to create learning objectives, which are evaluated at the end of the semester. Learning objectives describe specifically what it is that the student intends to accomplish/learn that semester at the job site based on needs and interests of the work site.
To begin, interested students need to read, print and follow the checklist on the "Student Responsibilities" page in the syllabus below. All forms required are included in the syllabus. Contact the CWEE Coordinator immediately.
