HSU and CR Exploring New Nursing Pathway

Published on 2/8/2017.

We've had some preliminary conversations Humboldt State University (HSU) administrators about creating a Registered Nurse to Bachelor's Degree in Nursing pathway.  We still a lot of work to do before our first cohort of CR students are admitted into a BSN program.  Alison Pritchard has agreed to work with CR and HSU administrators and faculty to develop a Nursing pathway framework.

Collaborating with HSU to discuss creating a seamless and integrated pathway to progress from CR's associate degree in nursing to a bachelor’s degree of nursing is very exciting. Our relationship with HSU has always been a source of pride for CR, and a potential nursing partnership takes it to whole new level.

I am thankful to the CR Board of Trustees for encouraging the administration to build stronger ties with HSU.  I am also grateful to Senator Mark McGuire for his commitment to bringing a BSN program back to Humboldt County and his willingness to facilitate the initial CR/HSU conversations.

This is very good for our students and our county!
