On March 31, people across the country commemorate the birthday of Cesar Chavez, the legendary farm worker organizer who transformed working conditions for thousands of farm workers in California. CR will commemorate Cesar Chavez Day by hosting a talk and celebration on Wednesday, March 29, 12-1, in the Board Room.

Renee Saucedo, CR’s Director of Student Equity & Success, will facilitate a discussion on the current plight of immigrant workers in our region and in the country. Renee will discuss the important contributions of Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers, as well as the challenges facing immigrant workers today, and how these workers continue to organize in order to gain their rights.

Lunch will be provided and is sponsored by Student Equity.
