- WOMEN’S SOCCER –

Redwoods women’s soccer went on the road and at home vs Mendocino College this week and did not disappoint. They beat Mendocino 8-0 on the road and 3-0 at home. Jaycee Morias played a big part in the team’s success, scoring 3 goals in the two games, and even getting reps at Goalie when her team needed it. Jaycee explains how she handled multiple positions during the game.

“It was tough adjusting to different positions in the middle of the game, but in the end, I felt good knowing I could help my team anywhere I was needed on the field.”

Redwoods had their home opener vs Gavilan and it was a thriller. Redwoods prevailed in double overtime, winning 32-29. Calvin Williams and the Redwoods defense showed up in big moments to secure the win. Calvin recorded 3 tackles (2 solo) and 2 interceptions. Calvin speaks on the game plan next week against Hartnell.

“We have to play fast, give all of our effort, and stay mentally focused. Our goal at the end of every week is to be 1-0.”
