CR will also hold its second annual Multicultural Graduation Ceremony on Friday, May 13 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Theater. This ceremony is held to express appreciation for the achievements, commonalities, and cultural differences that characterize the experiences of our diverse students. A potluck reception will take place in the Child Development Center upon completion of the celebration.

“I look forward to commencement every year,” said Flamer. “It’s the most important milestone in the academic year where students can share the excitement and importance of their academic accomplishments with peers, family, and friends. It is also a time for the College, Board of Trustees, administrators, staff, and faculty to pay tribute to students for the outstanding efforts they have shown in earning a degree or certificate.”

“This is an especially meaningful ceremony,” he continues, “as it is the first time we have been able to celebrate together in over two years. It is a testament to the tenacity and drive of our students and campus community that we have all made it through the recent challenges of the pandemic to be together in observance of their achievements.''

Saturday’s Eureka graduation can be viewed on the CR website homepage, on the CR YouTube page, on Suddenlink Cable Channel 8, and in Southern Humboldt on Channel 7 of the WAVE cable system, or on the Access Humboldt streaming webpage. Due to the suspension of in-person graduation ceremonies during the pandemic, graduates from both 2021 and 2022 were also invited to walk in these ceremonies.
