BOBBIE PURIFY

- WOMEN’S BASKETBALL –

Women’s basketball had a quick turn-around from a long road trip, playing 2 home games this week against Simpson JV and Butte. Redwoods got back to winning ways, beating Simpson JV, but losing a hard-fought battle against Butte. Sophomore Bobbie Purify displayed her leadership and athleticism averaging 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals in the two games. Bobbie ranks amongst the top 15 in the GVC for rebounds and steals.

LUIS PIMENTEL

- BASEBALL –

Baseball had its home-opening weekend against Mendocino. Overall Redwoods went 1-2 and saw players step up and compete early in the season. In the win, local freshmen from Eureka High Luis Pimentel contributed 5 IP, allowed 2 hits, 8 strikeouts, and 0 runs given up. Baseball will travel next weekend to play Hartnell.
