Fresh off its first Golden Valley Conference title in 40 years, the College of the Redwoods women's basketball team received more than a few well-earned rewards for one of the best regular season and conference runs in program history.

Redwoods' leading scorer (17.6 ppg) Ashley Quigley earned an all-state nomination and will learn if she is to be on of 20 players in the state named to the exclusive end-of-year list on Sunday.

Quigley, along with Dennise Horton and Breesia Northern, each earned all-conference team selections.

Quigley and Horton each also were selected to the conference's all-freshman team.

Quigley and Northern each attended Arcata High while Horton is a Del Norte High product.

Darienne Kartes and Brianna Green earned GVC honorable mentions.

"These awards are well-deserved by these girls," Redwoods head coach Jain Tuey said. "I am proud of every single member of this team."

Redwoods (20-5) on Wednesday defeated visiting Shasta College 83-61 to secure a share of a GVC championship. 8-2 in conference play, Redwoods split the GVC crown with Butte College.
