Jason Orlandi graduated from the College of the Redwoods Registered Nursing program in 2013. He recently earned his Bachelor’s Degree and is currently in the beginning of a Master’s Degree in Nursing at Western Governors University. “The knowledge base and skill set that I attained from CR helped prepare me for a career in the Art of Nursing” said Orlandi.

Over the past six years, Orlandi has had many different positions at Mad River Hospital, in many different departments, including the Medical Surgical department, ER, ICU, and as House Supervisor, but his latest role is as Director of Acute Care Nursing.

During this time, Orlandi also helped care for an underserved, at-risk population while working at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Working with this group, he gained insight into the diverse issues his local community faces every day.

In 2016, the hospital awarded him Employee of the Year, and he was named the Nurse of the Year in the Emergency Department by their local EMS group, Arcata-Mad River Ambulance.

Orlandi also enjoys coaching local youth sports and spending as much time with his children as possible.

“Being with my family and caring for those in my community are what means most to me” said Orlandi. “I look forward to partnering with local agencies to help improve the community we all live in. Creating a healthy place to raise our children, safe places to experience an active healthy lifestyle, and providing education for betterment of our community is my lifetime goal. I truly loved my time spent at College of the Redwoods and am honored to be a CR Alumnus.”
