The Automotive Program at College of the Redwoods has received a donation of a 2005 Ford Freestar van from Harper Motors of Eureka. This is the second time the dealership has given the program a vehicle. The van will be used for CR students to learn about more contemporary vehicle repair.
“This is good for our program,” said instructor Michael Richards. “The students can learn a lot from the technical systems in this vehicle.”
Richards said that the program is in need of more contemporary vehicles that students can learn from, and so hopes there will be more dealerships and individuals that can donate late model vehicles to the program in the future.
Trevor Harper of Harper Motors said that he values the technicians he has employed who graduated from CR over the last 15 years and gladly supports the program.
