College of the Redwoods will hold its 121st Basic Law Enforcement Academy graduation on Thursday, June 14th at 1 p.m. in the CR Theater on the Eureka campus.
Twenty-six cadets will participate in this class ceremony. Of those graduating, eighteen have been hired by various law enforcement departments and others are in different stages of the selection processes, some with multiple agencies.
The 121st class started in January. “The cadets have worked very hard to establish a solid foundation of law enforcement. They are very excited to start serving and giving back to their respective communities,” said CR Basic Law Enforcement Academy Coordinator Sandi Petersen.
The 122nd CR Basic Law Enforcement Academy starts Monday, July 9th, 2018, and the roster is filling up quickly, including 13 cadets from sponsoring agencies. Anyone interested in attending a future Academy, should go to the Basic Academy website at http://www.redwoods.edu/departments/police1/police-academy/ and click on “Frequently Asked Questions.” Any additional questions can be answered by calling the Training Center office at 707-476-4334.
Representing CR at the graduation will be President/Superintendent Dr. Keith Snow-Flamer; members of the Board of Trustees, Director Ron Waters, along with Academy Coordinator Sandi Petersen.
