Important information regarding your College of the Redwoods email and Office 365 account.


We have completed the migration of student email accounts from Google Gmail to Microsoft Outlook 365.

Your email address has not changed. You still have access to log into your Redwoods Gmail account to search for past email or access your contact list, but email will no longer be flowing through Gmail. 

To access your Microsoft email, please go to: https://myapps.microsoft.com/Redwoods.edu/.

Office 365 Login Information

Once the process is complete, and you are able to log-in to your new account, your temporary password will follow this example:

First initial of First Name (Upper Case) + First initial of Last Name(Upper Case) + 8-digit birthdate + exclamation point

If your name is Bugs Bunny and you were born on July 1, 1993, then…

  • Your Temporary Password would be :  BB07011993!       (Passwords are case-sensitive)
  • Your Username/Login will remain the same: flast123@mycr.redwoods.edu

You will also need to configure Multi-Factor Authentication. You can choose to have a text message sent to you OR download the Microsoft Authenticator App from Google Play or Apple Store.

Once you have completed the log-in process and set up Multi-Factor Authentication, this will bring you to an Apps Portal where you will be able to access your email as well as use Office 365 apps such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. We will also be using this portal for all single sign-on applications that you have access to through the college.

If you have previously used the College's provided Office 365 in the past, that account will also be available in the portal so that you can get back to any documents you may have saved there. Please move the documents that are important from your old account into your new account.

We realize that change is difficult, and we hope that this migration process goes as smoothly as possible. We are hoping the benefits of this migration will make any bumps in the road tolerable. Improved account security, Single Sign-On for many services, access to wireless printing, self-service portal for password changes, easy access to Office applications and cloud storage, faster wireless service when logged in as a student...
