Preparing for a new Education Master Plan

Preparing for a new Education Master Plan

CR’s Education Master Plan will expire in 2022. Next semester, the College will start the process to develop a new plan. The group leading this effort will soon be identified, and it will develop a plan to gather broad constituent input. The goal is to gather input from students, CR employees (including the Academic Senate and CSEA) and community members in fall 2020. Drafts of the plan will be shared for refinement in spring 2021, and the plan will be implemented at the beginning of 2022.

This is an opportunity for us to re-evaluate our values. A meaningful Education Master Plan will result in shared goals that bring us together and prepare us for the future. What will the typical community college student look like in 10 years? What is the future of online education and how might it impact CR? Will STEM fields continue to attract more students? How will the increasingly polarized political climate in our nation impact college culture? These are just a few questions that we will tackle in this planning process. I encourage you to participate in planning discussions as they roll out.
