Dr. Angelina Hill

Vice President of Instruction

Dr. Angelina Hill is the Vice President of Instruction at College of the Redwoods. She served as the Director of Institutional Research and Institutional Effectiveness at CR prior to her appointment as Vice President of Instruction. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology at UC Santa Cruz, and a Masters and PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Notre Dame.

In her role as Vice President of Instruction, Dr. Hill works closely with academic deans, administrators and members of the faculty to lead the long term planning and effectiveness of academic programs to select and develop a distinguished faculty, assure quality instruction, and support the mission of the College. She also serves as the College’s liaison to the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).

2019-2020 Goals

  • Expand course offerings in the BSS Degree
  • Expand library and other support services
  • Enhance technology for instruction
  • Carry out actions in the integrated SSSP/SEP/BSI Plan, and actions in the Guided Pathways Plan
  • Develop a first-year experience for each pathway to be taught by faculty in each program of the path
  • Develop advising materials for students that provide first-year course sequences for each pathway
  • Develop web materials that clearly display pathways to current and potential students
  • Audit the current program through the Budget Advisory Committee
  • Engage in evaluation as part of the annual 4021 process
  • Agriculture, digital media, and manufacturing technology
  • Work with the Academic Senate to finalize the reevaluate the rubric
  • Develop a common dataset to support the rubric
  • Implement the revised rubric and request form
  • Fully implement and troubleshoot the curriculum management system
  • Develop print catalog from eLumen
  • Enhance the visual aesthetics and ease of catalog use
  • Pilot the use of eLumen for SLO assessment in spring 2020
  • Involve all relevant stakeholders (Academic Senate, professional development, HR, President’s Office, etc.)
  • Explore recommendations for enhancing communities of practice
  • Join the Online Education Initiative
  • Provide enhanced support for instructional design and accessibility for students
  • Coordinate writing of ACCJC follow-up report
  • Oversee increased documentation of closing-the-loop in assessment
  • Coordinate a new process for ranking program plans attached to resource requests with the program review and budget advisory committees
