Prerequisites and Evaluations

Students needing to clear prerequisites for specific courses but, do not need the credits for the prerequisite to be applied to their College of the Redwoods transcript, may fill out a Request to Clear Prerequisite Form. Unofficial as well as Official transcripts are accepted to verify courses when clearing prerequisites. Requests to Clear Prerequisite forms take approximately 1 week to process.

Students who want an entire evaluation of college credit from another institution( students who want credits from another institution added onto their College of the Redwoods transcript), must fill out and submit a Transcript Evaluation Request. Only Official Transcripts will be used for evaluations. For Transcript Evaluations please allow up to 4 weeks to process.  IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED the student meet with a counselor/advisor prior to turning in the Transcript Evaluation Request to us.

An evaluation of your educational transcripts from other institutions will include:

  • General Education
  • Major Courses
  • Elective Credit

All coursework for evaluations must be completed at a regionally accredited institution.

In order for your transcripts to be evaluated:

  1. You must have an active CR student ID number and active CR student email address
  2. You must have a copy of your official transcripts on file in the Admission’s Office
  3. All foreign transcripts must go through a transcription service before CR will evaluate them for credit. For more information about this, please check the International Students information page
Please allow two to four weeks for the evaluation to be completed. You can review results of your transcript evaluation by logging on to your WebAdvisor account. Click on “Program Evaluation” under the Academic Profile section.
