Advanced Officer Training


The College of the Redwoods is a  P.O.S.T. -  designated Regional Skills Training Center for Advanced Officer Training.  Officers need a total of 24 hours of mandated training every two years, 14 of which are devoted to perishable skills (PSP) (defensive tactics, driver training, firearms, and tactical communications).  


PC832 Firearms / AJ190F

W Th F May 2-4, 2018 - POST Control #2960-80101-17002
Fulfills the minimum firearms requirements for the California commission on Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) PC832. Students must pass a California DOJ fingerprint check before participating in this course. Students must provide 500 rounds of ammo.Cost: $48 includes .5 units College credit, parking and student fees

May 7-11, 2018 - POST Control #2960-80102-17002
Fulfills the minimum arrest and control training requirements for the California commission on Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) PC832.  Cost: $98 includes 1.5 units College credit, parking and student fees

AJ-100 Mandated Topics (24-hour Perishable Skills)
includes Arrest & Control, Firearms, Driving, Crisis Negotiation Update; Domestic Violence Update and First Aid/CPR/AED.. You will be provided a syllabus including schedule for each day of course - Cost to agency: $48
