Fire Training Courses
- Incident Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors (formerly known as Fireline Safety for Hired Vendors) is in collaboration with CalFire/USFS and is mandatory for vendors to be eligible for contracts for the current fire season.
Bulldozer operators, water tenders, crew bus drivers, vehicle drivers and mechanics who have a CalFire/USFS agreement or contract requiring annual safety training will need to take this mandatory class or they will not be eligible for contracts for the entire 2020 fire season.
This course provides an awareness of incident fire safety to hired vendors who plan to engage in wildland fire suppression and other incident support activities. Topics include current safety training, relevant policy and procedures, how to recognize and mitigate risk, and maintain safe and effective practices while working under agency supervision on an incident. Upon successful completion of training participants will receive a course completion card valid for one (1) year from date of issue.
Students will be required to provide their CA State Fire Training (SFT) ID number on the first day of class. See instructions on obtaining your SFT ID #
