This 80-hour program delivers the skills students need to solve insurance billing and coding problems. It details proper assignment of codes and the process to file claims for reimbursement. This course covers the following key areas and topics:

  • Introduction to Medical Coding using CPT, HCPS and ICD 10

  • Introduction to 1995 & 1997 Documentation Guidelines

  • How to assign Evaluation and Management Service Codes

  • Introduction to Specialty Coding (Surgery, Radiology, and Laboratory)

  • Billing revenue cycle and billing processes and procedures

  • How to complete common insurance forms

  • How to follow-up on delinquent claims and appeal denied claims

  • Overview of the Health Care & Insurance industry
