My experience working with young children began at a Boys and Girls Club and continued with private pre-schools, private elementary schools, public elementary schools and then colleges and universities. I have lived and taught overseas and in New Hampshire, Hawaii, Utah and California.
I was born in Southern California but our family moved to Europe when I was 4 years old. I always wanted to move back to California and when the opportunity arose our entire family was pleased. I love the outdoors and the natural beauty of the north coast and enjoy all it has to offer. CR is a great community college to be a part of and a wonderful place to contribute in serving students.
I enjoy getting to know all my students and helping them meet their academic and professional goals. Each CR student is different and I strive to make the whole college experience work for them. If you are here for a Certificate in ECE leading to a teaching permit or a Degree leading to advanced placement or even transfer I can help you make that happen. It is my pleasure to work with all students and I really enjoy making sure they get the most out of CR.
My teaching style is student-focused and driven by a passion for understanding children and families. Courses that I teach are always very engaging, with students participating, presenting and working on collaborative hands-on projects. I also really like to see students grow as they move through the ECE program and begin to get field-based experiences in CR’s Child Development Center or in the local childcare community. It is great to see students becoming first comfortable and confident, and then very competent in working with young children.
