ASCR ELECTIONS: April 27 - May 1

Are you Considering a career in politics or public service?  Interested in helping other students? Do you want something that you can proudly put on a resume?
The Associated Students of College of the Redwoods (ASCR) is excited to announce the upcoming elections for the 2020-2021 school year!  The elections will be held entirely on-line from April 27 - May 1.   The voting link will be E-mailed to everyone just prior to the election and posted here as well.   Students from all three campuses are encouraged to run for office.
All ASCR positions are up for election:
President: The chief executive of the Senate. They are the official spokesperson for the ASCR and they chair the meetings of the Senate.
Executive Vice President: The chief operations officer of the Senate – They help find students to serve on CR committees and chair Senate meetings in the absence of the President. 
Vice President of Records: The secretary of the senate. They prepare agendas and minutes for meetings and make sure ASCR meetings comply with the Brown Act.
Vice President of Finance: The chief financial officer of the Senate. They prepare the annual ASCR budget for Senate approval and maintain financial records.
Eureka Organizational Senator: Eureka Campus only.  This position is responsible for coordinating club activities on the Eureka campus. 
Del Norte Organizational Senator: Del Norte Campus only.  This position is responsible for coordinating club activities on the Del Norte campus.

Campus Senators:  Senators are here to make student voices heard, via forums and events and to bring student concerns forward to their fellow Senators. 
Students from the Eureka campus elect seven senators. 
Del Norte students elect three senators.
  
K-T Instructional Site students elect one senator.


The qualifications for all positions are:

1.  Enrollment in at least 5.0 units of credit courses and
2.  Maintining a cumulative 2.0 GPA.  Before serving as an ASCR officer or campus senator, you must have attended CR or another college or university for at least one semester prior to Spring 2020.

Smartphone photos of the completed petitions will not be accepted.
Please follow the directions on the petition form for filing. 
The deadline to file petitions for the election is 11:59 PM on Monday, April 20, 2020
