Recognition
When applying for a scholarship or to a four-year school,
honors students have a definite advantage: their transcripts bear the
mark of their hard work. They are also often given priority
consideration for admission to competitive four-year schools. All
courses completed for honors courses are identified Honors credit.
Students who complete three semesters of honors classes are also
presented with a bronze medallion worn at graduation. Students who
complete five courses or 15 units of honors curriculum have their
transcripts stamped “Honors Program Scholar” and are eligible for
significant benefits, such as special scholarships and priority
registration, at selected prestigious four-year schools.
