Information Literacy

What is "Information Literacy"?  And why does it matter?

Information literacy is the ability to understand

  • when you need to know something, and
  • what you need to know, and
  • how to find and
  • how to use that information

In other words, it's the key to being a savvy lifelong learner, and to finding and using appropriate information properly when you need it so you will be more effective and successful at school and in your personal life.

The library offers a self-paced, ungraded online course that will help you become a better researcher and user of information both here at CR and in your life outside school.  Currently enrolled CR students can join the course at any time by clicking on the following link:  Information Literacy

The course will show up in your Canvas dashboard once you sign in.
