College of the Redwoods will be hosting summer volleyball camps and clinics in June and July. The goal of these camps is to introduce new players to the sport with proper technique, and to expand the skills of already experienced players through high energy drills and training. Campers will be taught individual skills along with the importance of team play and interaction.
The fifth through seventh graders camp takes place July 16 and 17 from 9am to 5pm. The eighth and ninth graders camp takes place July 17 and 18 from 9am to 5pm. The cost of the camp is $110.
Current high school seniors and college players are invited to the hitting and setting clinics that take place on June 23. The Hitting Clinic is from 10am to 1:30pm and the Setting Clinic is from 2pm to 5pm. The cost is $40 for one clinic or $60 for both.
“My goal is to introduce high energy volleyball at a younger age in Humboldt/Del Norte County at a price most can afford” said coach Petra Lorenzi. “We are also going to introduce all campers to a single session on our Beach Volleyball court, an opportunity they cannot receive north of the Bay area.”
Students can print the registration form from this link https://www.redwoods.edu/sports/CampsClinics and mail it to the address on the form, or bring it to the CR Business Office or PE offices Monday through Thursday. They will also be doing day-of registration but cannot guarantee shirt size if the camper is not pre-registered.
Please email or call Head Coach Petra Lorenzi at (707) 951-1062 email@example.com if your child wants to attend camp but may need financial assistance. Limited scholarship spots are available.
