9/10-9/15 Players of the Week
MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
DAKOTA MOORE
FOOTBALL
Despite the Corsairs losing to Hartnell Moore had another dominant week on the defensive side of the ball. Moore recorded 8 tackles (5 solo, 3 ast, 3.5 tfl) and caused havoc all game long. Moore explained how he needs to continue playing at a high level and the excitement for next week’s conference home opener:
“As a defensive player you got to just watch film and read the offense. When you study the film you try to learn what plays they run out of each formation.”
“I’m pretty excited. It was a privilege playing at the Redwood Bowl, but it will be nice to get up and get ready in our locker room and play at our own field.”
FEMALE ATHELETE OF THE WEEK
ARIANA GALLEGOS
VOLLEYBALL
Volleyball played some tough competition this past week and Gallegos came to play. Despite going 1-3 Coach Lorenzi said she had solid performances and Gallegos was the catalyst to their offense. Gallegos touches on the team’s performance and their upcoming matches:
“Coach Petra is really helping us get together as a team. We finally are working well together after the first few weeks.”
“We been working a lot on defense. Since we are a small team we have to out defend people.”
