At the GVC Championships Cadu earned some respect for Redwoods cross country. He finished 3rdin the 4-mile race timed at 25:39. The freshman from Fort Bragg, Ca is ready to take advantage of his first opportunity at NorCal Championships November 2nd. Whitlock explains his preparation going into NorCal Championships.
“I put in a lot of hard work and repeatedly ran with maximum effort. I gave myself a goal to beat a certain time and if I didn’t meet my expectation I put in extra work.”

Maria and Amelia showed up to GVC championships ready to compete. Collectively the Redwoods lady cross country team earned 2ndplace, Maria placed 2ndplace in the 5k and Amelia placed 4thin the. Both earned a spot to compete in the NorCal Championships next week. Maria and Amelia talk about their individual performances.
Maria, “Personally, I don’t focus on time or distance I focus on staying with the girl in front of me and when I pass her focus on the next girl.”
Amelia, “I felt like I could of did better than what I performed. I had an injury during the race, but I kept pushing and trying to catch the girl in front.”
