What is the MyCR Portal?

Outlook (Student Email), Canvas, Office365 Apps

  • Outlook provides access to your student emails.
  • Canvas is the hub for your courses and communication with your professors. 
  • Office365 Apps, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneDrive (online storage), to help with your coursework and educational journey.

You will need to make sure that your MyCR Login is set up in order to access Canvas or your Outlook Email. If you haven’t set up your account, please see the MyCR Account Setup page.

Once the account has been set up, students can reset their own passwords by visiting the link below. https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/?whr=redwoods.edu

Clear the browser cache

  1. Log out of the MyCR Portal
  2. Clear your browser's cache

  3. Log back into the MyCR Portal

You cannot access the MyCR Portal or your Outlook email from outside the US.

However, you may be able to access Canvas if you email IT (see below) before traveling to request an access link.

Use your student email account when making the request and send it to help@redwoods.edu.

To access the MyCR Portal, your 'sign in' will be your email address. Your student email address is: First Initial + Last Name + Last 3 digits of the student ID number + '@mycr.redwoods.edu'.

For example, student "Bugs Bunny" has a student ID number of 123456 so the student email address for Bugs Bunny is: bbunny456@mycr.redwoods.edu.

Your temporary password for the MyCR Portal will follow this example: 
First Initial (capitalized) + Last Initial (capitalized) + 8 Digit Birth Date + Exclamation mark 
 
Student "Bugs Bunny" was born on July 1, 1993, so the temporary password for Bugs would be: BB07011993!

Note: Passwords are case-sensitive.
