The CR/Humboldt County Jail Partnership

Published on 9/24/2015.

Kintay Johnson and Julia Peterson have been working together to bring our classes to inmates at the Humboldt County Jail. Kintay recently taught a CR Adult Education class at the jail where he encouraged students to register at CR upon release, so they can continue their education. This partnership between CR and the Humboldt County Correctional Facility to bring education into the jail and create a pathway for inmates so that they can successfully transition from crime to college is one way that we’re helping to break the cycle of recidivism, and assist with the reintegration of individuals into the community upon release.

Kintay gave a wonderful interview to KHSU describing the program. Take a listen.
