New Faculty Hires for Fall 2017

Published on 12/1/2016.

Our faculty inspire countless individuals, nurturing students in everything from the humanities and sciences to career and technical education.  I can’t tell you how many times people in the community who’ve attended CR go out of their way to share a story about how a particular faculty member influenced their lives.   I still remember the wonderful Jesuit faculty of Gonzaga University who profoundly changed my life.

We have an opportunity to have seven new faculty members to join us by Fall 2017. We’re excited to be hiring three Mathematics, a Registered Nursing, a Communication Studies, a Construction Technology and an EOPS-CARE Counselor for the Eureka campus. Of the seven hires, six will replace retired or retiring faculty members.  One will be a new position.

The hiring of these tenure track faculty is made possible by reallocating some general fund savings and through categorical EOPS monies.  Bringing in new faculty members means that we will be able to fulfill our commitment to improving student success and progression and supporting enrollment growth.

As we move the search process forward, it’s important to remember that each new faculty member who will join our college community will help us shape the next 20 years, making a greater impact on our students, our institutional culture and our local community.
