CR was awarded a Student Support Services Program grant

Published on 8/11/2015.

Yay! We were notified yesterday that CR was awarded a Student Support Services Program grant for the Eureka campus!  The grant will allow us to hire a full-time director, full-time Student Development Advisor, and a 19-hour a week Student Services Specialist for the program.

This grant plans to improve student outcomes through specialized intrusive coaching strategies such as contacting students regularly via phone, email, text messages, and social networking sites, through a discussion panel designed for 2nd and 3rd year students to share their backgrounds and strategies for success with freshmen, through targeting freshmen to take a First-Year Experience course that focuses on non-cognitive skills, through tutoring and mentoring, and through individualized counseling, as well as group workshops on study skills, careers, and financial literacy.

We’re very excited to have this awesome program!   Brady Reed and Angelina Hill did a fantastic job getting this grant approved.
