A quorum of the Board met in a special public meeting on October 30, 2019 to appoint members to an Ad Hoc Committee for the nomination of Board Officers.  Today, the Board took action and approved Trustee Biggin, Trustee Dr. Deister, and President of the Board Emad to serve on the Ad Hoc Committee.

President of the Board Emad explained the reason why the meeting was held now instead of waiting until the regularly scheduled Board meeting in November.  Basically, it's important that we adhere to our policies and procedures.  Per Administrative Procedure 2305 Annual Organizational Meeting, three Trustees were supposed to be appointed to the Ad Hoc Committee for the Nomination of Board Officers in October. However, the appointments were not made at the October Board meeting. That situation has been rectified with the Board's action today. 

As next steps, the Ad Hoc Committee will present a slate of officers at the November meeting. The Board will vote on the slate of officers presented by the Ad Hoc Committee or on nominations from the floor at the December meeting.
