The District's Faculty Prioritization Committee (FPC) forwarded a ranked list of ten tenure-track faculty position requests to me for action on November 22, 2019. I informed the District that, after careful thought, I authorized the search for four general funded tenure track faculty positions for fall 2020. Those positions are Communication Studies (Del Norte and Pelican Bay), Computer Information Systems (Eureka), and two Registered Nursing—Paramedic/LVN Mobility Track (Eureka). I want to thank all the members of the FPC for their work.
I also informed the District that I also authorized two categorically funded non-tenure track positions for fall 2020. Our Strong Workforce funds will be used to fund a fulltime faculty member in Social Work (Eureka) and in Construction Technology—Fine Woodworking/Residential (Eureka).
The timeline for the faculty searches is as follows:
December: Human Resources initiates the process for faculty hiring.
January: Screening committees review applications.
February: Candidates interviewed; finalists selected.
March/April: Board of Trustees approves contracts.
