Leaders of the Student Development Programs at CR participated in Student Learning Outcome (SLO) assessment workshop over the last two weeks as part of our continuing effort to provide pertinent and valuable professional development opportunities. They improved their program’s SLOs so that they clearly reflect what their program does to impact student learning in a way that is measureable. SLO assessment is a key part of program review for student development to enhance program improvement. The workshops resulted in programs actively learning from each other, coordinating ways to administer assessments to reduce student survey fatigue, and gave new faculty and staff a larger perspective of the impact of SLO assessment.
