Mark Winter named as Interim Vice President of Instruction and Student Development

I am pleased to share the news that the CR Board of Trustees approved my recommendation for Dr. Mark Winter to serve as the Interim Vice President of Instruction and Student Development effective July 1, 2015.

Thank you for working hard to stabilize enrollments!

Fiscal sustainability and enrollment stabilization are going to remain two of the college’s major goals for the next few years and we’re going to become very focused on improving enrollment management strategies to maximize our resources.

Preparing for the October 2017 Accreditation Visit Now

Accreditation training will be an essential component to our ability to continuously meet accreditation standards. All employees should have a thorough understanding of the standards and eligibility requirements.

CR Accepted in California Acceleration Project Again

Ruthe Rhodes and Sean Herrera-Thomas submitted an application to the California Acceleration Project (CAP) for CR to participate in the 2015 Community of Practice.  We received confirmation on April 24th that our application was accepted and CR is sending a team of four to the CAP.

Protecting Civility and Collegiality

The College has been through a lot in the last eight years. We’ve faced accreditation sanctions and budget emergencies.  Through these crises, we faced challenges working together—listening to each other, discussing issues with civility and collegiality, and respectfully disagreeing. 

Heads-up—Applied Technology Building Work to Begin Summer of 2017

The State allocated approximately thirty six million dollars to the District to upgrade our utility infrastructure.  A portion of the Utility Infrastructure Project (UIP) funds have been earmarked to replace all of the HVAC systems, replace the ceiling, add new lighting, and improve ADA access to the Applied Technology (AT) building.
