Mission
To support the educational programs of the Redwoods District by soliciting and receiving gifts, dispensing funds to assist students, and promoting the general welfare of the College.

Mini Grants

The Foundation awards grant requests for up to $500. Initial grant opportunities are announced to the District in the fall. If funds are still available, subsequent grants applications are accepted throughout the fiscal year and awarded after the next scheduled Board meeting. Financial support will be provided for activities, projects and functions of an educational and/or scientific nature which benefit and augment the students, faculty and programs at CR. Use of funds should enhance the image and/or operations of CR and contribute to the enhancement or development of the recipient or program. Priority of funds will be given to: projects where state or other resources are limited or unavailable: projects which do the greatest good for the greatest number of people: requests of $500 or less.

Overview for Colleges
The California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment was launched in May 2008 with a $25 million gift from The Bernard Osher Foundation. Through June 2011, the California Community Colleges and the Foundation for California Community Colleges will raise an additional $50 million, for which the Osher Foundation will provide a 50 percent match, up to $25 million. To reach the $100 million campaign goal and ensure lasting support for our students, the involvement of each college is crucial.
