Office 365 for Education

What is Office 365 Education?
Office 365 Education is a collection of services that allows you to collaborate and share your schoolwork. It’s available for free to students who are currently attending an academic institution (College of the Redwoods). Office 365 is the latest version of Microsoft’s productivity suite, and includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote, and more. It is available for offline and online use to best prepare you for class and your academic journey.

Microsoft allows students to install the full Office applications on up to 5 PCs or Macs for free. You will see the Install Office button on your Office 365 home page after you complete sign-up process.

 

How to register for Office 365

  • STEP 1 – Get your student email address
    Students must use their MyCR email address to register and all email communication will be conducted through this email.
    The student’s email address appears as jdoe@mycr.redwoods.edu.
  • STEP 2 – Register
    Register for Office 365 Education with your student email address and then follow the steps to complete registration and to download.

 

Important Note: The Office 365 provided by Redwoods Community College District is for personally owned (home) computers and devices. Our colleges already provide all of our students with access to Microsoft products as a standard computing practice in our computer labs.

 

What are the eligibility requirements?
You must be a full-time or part-time faculty, staff, or student at an academic institution and have a school-specific email address provided by the school that can receive external email.

 

How long can I use this plan for?
You can use the plan as long as you are working at a qualified school. Your eligibility may be re-verified at any time.

 

What are the minimum system requirements for Office 365 Education?
To install Office 365 Education, your PC or Mac must meet the minimum system requirements.
