This is a chance to learn about the application process, meet the instructor and ask questions. Even though this is a free class there are additional fees that will be presented in this meeting.
Must apply with separate application. Contact Adult & Community Education at 707-476-4500. Lab days and times TBA. 168 hours of lecture and 84 ours of lab required to complete this course. Lecture online synchronous meetings required; days & times TBA.

The application will be posted at the bottom of the page after the first informational meeting. High School Transcript or GED not required to apply to the program.
Accepted students will be enrolled in the following two (2) classes:
- MA 201 - Classroom & Labs Portion
- MA 201A - Externship
Class & Externship Dates: January 18 - April 29, 2022
Days/Time: Hybrid - Online with Face to Face Labs

Labs Location: 525 D Street, Eureka
College of the Redwoods Adult & Community Education offers training to become a Certified Medical Assistant. This noncredit class in a Hybrid format online with in-class labs includes clinical rotation at a local medical office. Front and back Office Medical Assistant skills will be covered in an interactive classroom format.
Medical Assisting course includes:
- Venipuncture and Injection Certification
- Medical Terminology
- Front and Back Office Procedures
- Clinical Experience at a Local Healthcare Facility
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Perform Finger-stick Lab Tests and Urinalysis
- Identify Principles of Pharmacology
- Textbooks, 3 Uniforms & Stethoscope
- Job Preparation Skills
- National Medical Assisting Exam
