College of the Redwoods Co-Sponsors Memoir Workshop and Reading with Michael Czarnecki

Published on 10/11/2016.

Visiting poet and memoirist Michael Czarnecki will present a Memoir Writing Workshop followed by a public reading at College of the Redwoods-Del Norte Educational Center, 883 W. Washington Blvd, Crescent City, on Wednesday, October 26 in room DM 36.

The workshop is from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the public reading will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Both are free of charge, but the workshop space is limited.  Advanced registration is required.

Michael Czarnecki uses “Palm of the Hand” technique to teach aspiring writers how to keep memoirs brief and powerful. His workshops have spawned a number of writers’ groups nationwide, including one in Del Norte County, the Redwood Memoir Group.

Czarnecki has given over 400 readings and numerous workshops across the United States and has published six books of poetry. In addition to writing his own work, he runs Foothills Publishing, a small press that prints the work of many other writers.

The workshop and reading is co-sponsored by Redwood Voice, Redwood Memoir Group, and Poets and Writers.
