Guest Speaker Chag Lowry is of Yurok, Maidu, and Achumawi ancestry. He is the author of the World War I graphic novel, Soldiers Unknown, and the comic stories My Sisters and Follow the Water. He is the producer and director of multiple PBS films that feature Yurok, Hupa, Tolowa, Wiyot, and Karuk elders. He created the Original Voices comic imprint to produce and tell stories from an Indigenous perspective. His next science fiction comic will feature Indigenous languages, secret codes, Einstein’s lost theory, and gravitational waves!
