CR CAL FIRE Basic Fighter Academy begins in September

Mandatory Orientation August 6

College of the Redwoods will hold a CAL FIRE Basic Fighter Academy beginning in September. There will be a mandatory orientation on Saturday, August 6 from 9am to 3pm in room AJ 101A. Class dates are from Friday, September 2, 2022 to Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023. Classes will meet on Friday evenings from 6pm to 9pm, and Saturday and Sundays from 8am to 6pm.

Students completing this certificate will have the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of an entry-level wildland firefighter as required by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). Students are eligible to apply for CAL FIRE certification on successful completion of the training.
