Thirty-three College of the Redwoods faculty members are participating in a Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) training entitled "Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Online Learning Environment."
The ACUE prepares, credentials, and provides on-going support to faculty in the use of evidence-based teaching practices that promote student engagement, persistence to graduation, career readiness, and deeper levels of learning. Faculty who satisfy the requirements of ACUE’s courses through institutional partnerships or open enrollment courses earn certificates in effective college instruction endorsed by the American Council on Education.
Participants who successfully complete this 7-8 week course will earn a micro-credential that partially fulfills the requirements for the American Council on Education (ACE)-endorsed Certificate in Effective College Instruction. Additional courses will be offered during the fall 2022 and spring 2023 semesters.
Some of the topics covered in the training include Promoting Civil Online Learning Environments, Ensuring Equitable Access to Online Learning, Helping Students Persist in Online Learning, and Embracing Diversity in Online Learning.
