CR Del Norte holds Post-Election Discussion

College of the Redwoods professor William Meriwether will be hosting a Post-Election Discussion on Monday Nov. 21 at the Del Norte Campus in room DM34 at 11:30 a.m. Staff, students, and the public are welcome to attend. Meriwether will discuss the Electoral College, the power of Congress in drafting legislation, the court in checking said legislation as well as some concerns people have about the election. Also discussed will be why, under the Constitution, the President has limited powers to implement his campaign promises including some of the specific policies President elect Trump has proposed. 

The presentation will be followed by Q & A.

 Assistant Professor Meriwether came to College of the Redwoods in the fall of 2015. He teaches Political Science and U.S. History at CR Del Norte. Before coming to CR, Mr. Meriwether taught Political Science and U.S. History at a number of colleges throughout the country, including Owensboro Community College, Henderson Community College, and Ivy Tech Community College. Meriwether is a U.S. Army veteran who taught Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Management at Ft. Huachuca in Arizona.
