College of the Redwoods Police Academy graduation to be held Thursday, December 15th

College of the Redwoods will hold its 118th Basic Law Enforcement Academy graduation on Thursday, December 15 at 1 p.m. in the CR theater on the Eureka main campus.

Twenty five cadets will participate in this class ceremony. Of those graduating, twenty-one have been hired by various law enforcement departments and others are in different stages of the selection processes, some with multiple agencies.

The 118th class started in June. “The cadets have put in many hours of hard work in order to successfully meet the requirements of the CR Basic Law Enforcement Academy.  We are excited to see them go out and serve their individual communities with the same diligence and passion they’ve so far shown,” said CR Basic Law Enforcement Academy Coordinator Sandi Petersen.

The 119th CR Basic Law Enforcement Academy starts Monday, January 9, 2017 and has reached its capacity with 40 cadets, including 20 from sponsoring agencies.  Additional interested potential cadets will be placed on the waiting list.  Anyone interested in attending a future Academy, should go to the Basic Academy website at http://www.redwoods.edu/departments/police1/police-academy/ and click on “Frequently Asked Questions.”  Any additional questions can be answered by calling the Training Center office at 707-476-4334.

Representing CR at the graduation will be Interim President/Superintendent Dr. Keith Snow-Flamer; members of the Board of Trustees, Director Ron Waters, along with Academy Coordinator Sandi Petersen.
