College of the Redwoods awards over $158,000 in scholarships
On Thursday, April 5th, the College of the Redwoods Foundation honored generous scholarship donors and congratulated scholarship recipients. This annual scholarship celebration is held for donors to meet their scholarship recipients and for students to thank their benefactors.
CR’s Foundation awarded over $158,000 in scholarships during the academic year of 2017-18. More than 200 scholarships were awarded and ranged from $75 to $2000. Six hundred plus students from across the Redwoods Community College District applied for these scholarships.
A few of the scholarships included the Ernest & Mildred Lanini Memorial Scholarship, the Louis & Fern Weichselfelder Memorial Scholarship, the Mel McLean Scholarship, the Rotary Club of Eureka Scholarship, the Will Kale Forestry Scholarship, and the Tom & Phyllis Giacomini Scholarship.
College of the Redwoods’ Fall 2018 scholarship application will be available online in August. The list of available CR scholarships can be found at http://www.redwoods.edu/financialaid/Scholarships.
