CR Adult Education holds Summer Bridge August session

College starts in less than a month. In order to prepare students for a more successful fall semester and college career, CR Adult Education is offering Bridge to College. The final session of Bridge to College is underway, and CR is accepting new students daily through August 13 at three locations: CR Eureka Campus, CR Del Norte Campus, and a two week CR Bridge to College will also be held on the campus of Eureka High School in the CR classrooms near the gym beginning August 3.

Bridge to College is a free summer program open to all adults. Half of all students who participate in Bridge programs nationwide skip a full semester of Math or English. “We are already seeing the results of Bridge to College with students testing into higher level English classes, thus skipping a full semester. We are expecting more people to take advantage of this free program and do the same,” says Julia Peterson, CR Director of Noncredit and Adult Education.

Bridge to College is designed specifically to prepare students for CR or any college.  This is a college experience in a fun, supportive environment. These noncredit classes allow students to explore college without the pressure of grades or homework while they gain skills they will use in the fall semester. Bridge to College will help students hone their skills in English and Math. Students may also attend classes to improve study skills, live well on a student budget, or learn to get started with computers.

CR Bridge to College is in its final three-week session with classes offered Monday through Thursday through August 13. Take up to four classes a day on the Eureka Campus. To participate in CR Bridge to College, contact CR Counseling and Advising and ask for Bridge to College, or come to class and the instructors will help you register.

For more information, contact the CR Counseling and Advising Office at (707) 476-4150 or email counseling@redwoods.edu. CR Del Norte students can call (707) 464-2333.
