MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

DAKOTA MOORE

FOOTBALL

The Corsairs couldn’t protect community stadium this week and lost a thriller against Los Medanos College 18-21.  Despite the outcome Moore put up another monstrous performance, gathering 15 tackles (12 solo, 3 ast, 5 tfl, 1 sack). Moore has been a wrecking ball all season long and has established himself as a consistent weapon for the Redwood’s Defense. Redwoods will take the show on the road next Saturday to Los Altos to play a stout Foothill College team.

 

 

 

 

FEMALE ATHELETE OF THE WEEK

ELISE WILSON

VOLLEYBALL

Lady Corsairs had a busy week, playing 3 consecutive games this week and going 1-2. First, losing on the road to Feather River and Lassen and then rebounding with an impressive win against Cañada at home. Elise had solid performances, contributing 8 aces and averaged 21 digs through 3 games. Elise is currently ranked #4 in the GVC for digs. Elise explains her team’s performance this week.

            “We really picked up our competitiveness in that 3-game stretch. Feather River gave us a taste of upper level Community College play. We dropped the ball against Lassen but picked it back up against Cañada.”
