College of the Redwoods holds football signing ceremony

College of the Redwoods is holding a signing ceremony on Saturday, June 5 from 11:00am to 1:30pm for local area students who have committed to come to CR to play football. The program expects between 15 and 20 students to attend.

The event includes a talk with players, a campus tour, and a signing ceremony followed by lunch. Local media are invited to attend the signing portion of the ceremony from 12:00 to 12:30pm in the CR Theater.

Although the official CR football season will not begin until the fall of 2022, these students have committed to attend CR in the fall or spring of next year to practice and train until competition resumes. The goal is to recruit 40-70 freshman per year to the football team, with at least half of those coming from Humboldt or Del Norte high schools. Total roster size, including redshirts and sophomores, will be in the 70-100 range.
