CR literary magazine accepts submissions
The Seven Gill Shark Review, College of the Redwoods' literary magazine, is currently accepting submissions of original poetry, fiction, and nonfiction from Humboldt County community members, as well as staff, faculty, and students at all CR campuses. The submission period is currently open through 11:59pm on March 11, 2022.
Poetry submissions may consist of up to four pieces of work, limited to three pages in length. Short stories are limited to 2,000 words, essays are limited to 2,500 words, double-spaced, and you may submit up to two short stories or essays. Entries should be emailed to jonathan-maiullo@redwoods.edu, and sent as an attachment.
All entries will be considered for first place prizes donated by Eureka Books and Tin Can Mailman. First prize in each category will be awarded $35 in gift certificates.
Situation permitting, a public reading event is planned for all chosen submissions. This reading will take place May 2022 on the Eureka campus. Date and location to be posted on the website.
