CR students to be honored at Klamath-Trinity Commencement on Saturday
Twenty-nine students from the College of the Redwoods Klamath-Trinity Instructional Site will be honored during commencement exercises at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 14 at Hoopa Elementary School Gymnasium in Hoopa, California.
Of the twenty-nine students to be honored, fifteen degrees and fourteen certificates will be conferred during commencement. The student choice for KTIS Faculty of the Year is Danny Ammon, Mathematics and Computer Information Systems Associate Faculty Member. Caw-Tep Sylvia has been selected as the Outstanding Student Speaker.
President/Superintendent Dr. Keith Snow-Flamer, Dr. Mark Winter, Vice-Present of Instruction and Student Development, Dr. Angelina Hill, Director of Institutional Effectiveness, and CR Trustee, Sally Biggin will present diplomas to the graduates. Hoopa Tribal Education Association Director, Erika Chase and Chairman, Ryan Jackson of the Hoopa Valley Tribe will also give speeches. William Carpenter, Hoopa Tribe Sergeant at Arms and Honored Elder, will give a blessing.
The fifteen individuals who will receive Associate of Arts, Liberal Arts degrees are: Taihvoochi Colegrove, Lillian Davis, Arnold Ferris, Jr., Chelsee Gibbens, Michelle Jarnaghan, Matthew Marshall, Hunter Schaeffer, Caw-Tep Sylvia, and Chad Wilder.
The students who will receive Associate of Science degrees are: Ruby Billings, Deserri Colegrove, Dottie Gray, and Lelanette McCovey. Fourteen additional graduates, Donna Albers, Laree Billings, Cherie Bone, Bridget Brown, Damon Cross, Richard Garcia, Virginia Greeno, Angellea Irwin, Misti Gayle-Jones, Micole Kelsey, Christina Lamebear, Stuart McConnell, Tanepai-Wik Schwenk, and Michaela Ward earned a Certificate of Achievement.
