I am pleased to announce the promotion of Roberta Farrar from Professor of Nursing to the Director of Nursing. She will assume her role on June 1, 2019. Roberta will replace longtime director Alison Pritchard, who will retire at the end of this academic year.
Roberta holds a nursing degree comes from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland and a Masters Degree in Nursing Education. During her career, she has worked at all the hospitals and received the Nurse of the Year award plus a ten-year pin from Mad River Community Hospital. She 's also served as the Assistant Director of our Nursing Program.
Dr. Angelina Hill and I are thrilled that Roberta has accepted the challenge of leading the nursing department. She will bring a wealth of knowledge about local healthcare needs and trends in patient care and nursing education to her role as director. Roberta will be asked to balance the needs of our students and faculty while supporting the growing needs of our community for nurses. This will not be a small task. Roberta has shown that she can do this without losing focus on the high-quality, outcome-driven standards our nursing program.
